Susan Grossman
Luminous and shimmering, Susan Grossman’s drawings have a nearly-cinematic quality. Her style is realist in manner, but the choice of charcoal and pastel as a medium gives the work an atmospheric quality that draws the viewer to a timeless place. All the works seem to possess an unspoken narrative, a compelling moment that covers an emotional range from action to contemplation.
Describing one of her solo shows, Ken Johnson of The New York Times said, “With a deft touch in a loosely-photoreal style, Ms. Grossman captures the exhilarating vitality of metropolitan street life.”
Susan has exhibited her work in solo exhibitions and group shows across the country, and her work is in more than a dozen public, private and corporate collections of note.
